2003-2007 Honda Accord Cabin Air Filter Replacement

It is suggested that the cabin air filter be replaced every 15,000 miles.

  • Open the passenger side door and locate the glove box. Open and empty the glove box.

  • Identify the glove box damper assy latch on the right side of the glove box. Using moderate force, press against the latch with your thumb until it pops out of place.

  • The glove box is held in place by tabs on both sides. Push inward on both sides of the box to allow the glove box to drop clear the tabs and drop downward slowly.

  • Now that the cabin air filter housing is visible locate the locking tabs on the left and right edges.
  • Push the tabs inward and gently shake the housing free while pulling straight out.
  • When reassembling, push the filter tray in gently until both locking tabs click into position. The filter must be inserted into the tray fully for the tray to fit back in.

  • Push the air filter out of the plastic housing from the bottom and discard.

  • Orient the new filter properly, with the air flow arrows (located on the filter) aligning with the indication on the filter tray assy.
  • Press the air filter down into the housing while draping the filter's thick side pleats into the plastic housing.
  • Ensure that the last vanes on the front and back of the filter fit into the retaining tabs in the filter tray to prevent any particulates passing around the filter.
