- Locate the coolant reservoir, near the front of the engine bay.
- Do not remove the reservoir cap if the engine has overheated. Doing so may result in a steam explosion as pressure is released.
- Locate the coolant reservoir cap and remove it by pressing down and turning it counterclockwise.
- Never fill up the coolant while the engine is hot. This may cause the engine block to crack.
- If the coolant level is low, fill up the reservoir using a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water.
- Many types of antifreeze coolant are pre-mixed, so read the instructions on the bottle before diluting with water.
