Step-by-step instructions

  • Go to your local auto shop and ask them to look up which headlights you will need for your specific car. They will give you the correct bulb and handling instructions.

  • Put on your gloves and open the hood of the car.
  • Locate the black plug directly behind your headlight.
Step 3 · photo 1

  • After the plug is moved aside, locate the black cover that protects the bulb from any debris. My headlights are over 8 years old so I needed pliers to remove the cover since it was crusted onto the surrounding area.
  • Pliers are optional.
  • Pull the cover off and set it aside.

  • Once the cover is off, the bulb will come out right into your hand.
  • Be careful not to touch the glass as it needs to stay perfectly clean in order to work properly.
  • Replace with a new bulb.

  • Put your cover back into place to protect the bulb from weathering. Then, put the plug back inside to reconnect your headlights.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
