- With the tip of a flat head screwdriver, insert it under the edge of the key fob and push against the back cover to pop it off.
- Take caution as you apply force to open the cover as the flathead screwdriver is a sharp tool.

The following is a guide on how to replace the battery for the key FOB on a 2008-2010 Audi A3 Sportback. The key fob utilizes the CR2032 lithium battery. - Remove the round CR2032 battery from the fob back cover with a plastic spudger or opening tool.
- The battery has a "+" positive side (textured surface) and a "–" negative side (smooth surface).

- Insert a new battery and pop the cover back on by hand.
