Replacement spark plugs on the Peugeot 306

This tutorial will help you remove and replace the spark plugs on a Peugeot 306 1.8 16V petrol engine.

Cleaning the spark plugs is recommended if starting is difficult when warm or if idling seems unstable. In fact, a dirty spark plug produces a weaker spark, or in some cases, no spark at all.

The lifespan of a spark plug varies between 30,000 and 60,000 km, depending on the make and use of the vehicle.

  • Insert the wrench into the first spark plug chamber until you reach the bolt.
  • Certain spark plug wrenches are equipped with a rubber joint to help with extracting the spark plug. It is therefore necessary to apply light pressure to correctly reach the spark plug's bolt.
  • Unscrew the first spark plug, and remove it from its chamber.
  • Continue in the same manner for the other three spark plugs.
