2014 Honda CTX 700NA Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Changing the oil in any motor is a vital part to keep it running smoothly. Before changing the oil in your 2014 Honda CTX 700NA, make sure the engine is cool, if you just got done riding wait 15 minutes. The reason to wait for it to cool is because the exhaust pipe is also routed underneath the bike and can easily be mistakenly touched.

  • Open the oil reservoir cap, located on the right side of the bike just behind the foot peg.

  • Using a ratchet and socket, loosen the bolt.

  • Once the bolt is removed the oil will drain out. Let all of the oil drain into the oil pan.
  • The drip should be as pictured before screwing the bolt back in.

  • Once the bolt is tightly secured back in, unscrew the oil filter.
  • The oil filter is located on the underside of the bike but near the front wheel. If the filter is too tight, use channel lock pliers to get it off.

  • Once the new oil filter is installed, return to the oil reservoir mentioned in step 1. Insert a funnel and begin pouring in new oil, the type of oil required is SAE 10W-30.
  • If you change the oil filter 3.6 quarts will be needed. If you didn't replace the oil filter only 3.3 quarts will be needed.
