2000-2007 Toyota Corolla Cabin Air Filter

Changing a 2007 Toyota Corolla’s cabin air filter is an easy way to extend the life of your vehicle and is easy enough to do without any expensive tools. Use this guide to easily replace a 2007 Toyota Corolla’s cabin air filter.

The cabin air filter in a car is designed to remove pollutants from the air that is contained inside your vehicle, typically behind the glove box. Changing your cabin air filter regularly is important to ensure that you continue to breathe clean air while you drive, as they collect particles and dust, the filter’s capacity to filter more out becomes diminished.

Before beginning, consider bringing a trash bag with you do discard the older filter into to avoid getting any debris on you or your vehicle.

Step-by-step instructions

  • Open the passenger side door and open the glove box.
  • Remove any contents inside of the glove box.

  • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the 15 mm screw securing the dampener rod to the right of the glove box.

  • Unhook the dampener rod from the glove box.

  • Remove the glove box by squeezing inwards on the sides of it then pulling it straight out.

  • Squeeze inward on the left and right tabs of the air filter cover.
  • Pull the cover off slowly.
  • Gently remove the old air filter to avoid dropping debris over the car floor.

  • Align a new air filter with the airflow direction arrow pointing downwards.
  • Slide the new filter into place.
