If one of the tail lights in your 2004 Dodge Durango is not lighting up, you may need to replace the bulb inside. A faulty bulb may result in a costly fine or an accident on the road, as tail lights are essential for signaling other vehicles. Step-by-step instructions

- Pry both caps out using a spudger.

- Carefully pull the tail light towards yourself to gain access to the wiring.
- Do not pull the tail light too far. It is still connected to the wires and moving it too far may damage them.

- Locate the connector and pull the orange safety pin out.
- After the safety pin is out, pull on the connector plug to separate it from the tail light.

- Remove the three Torx 15 screws that are holding the bulb carrier in place.

- Remove the bulb holder piece from the tail light by gently pulling it up.

- Remove the defective bulb by pulling it up.
