How to Replace 2000-2007 Toyota Corolla Engine Air Filter

Having a clean air filter in your 2007 Toyota Corolla is crucial for optimal operation. However, over time the filter will become clogged with dirt and debris, and needs to be replaced to keep your car functioning like it should.

Often times, car dealerships and mechanics charge extreme amounts for simples fixes or replacements, and air filters are no exception. This guide is intended to save you some money by showing you easy steps to replace your air filter in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. It is a relatively fast, easy replacement that should only take a few minutes and a Phillips #3 screwdriver.

  • Pop your hood using the hood latch.
  • Release the latch under the front of the hood.
  • Open and prop the hood.

  • Unclip the retaining clips from the air filter housing.

  • Disconnect the Mass Air Filter (MAF) sensor by releasing the latch on top of the sensor.
  • Pull away the clip and wires.

  • Use a Phillips #3 screw driver to loosen the single screw securing the clamp to the intake pipe.
  • Do not remove the screw; simply loosen it until the clamp is loose enough to remove the intake pipe.

  • Remove the air filter housing.

  • Remove the old air filter.
