2005 Honda CBR600RR Headlight Bulb Replacement

This guide details the process of replacing a worn out or damaged headlight bulb of a 2005 Honda CBR600RR. Due to this being a common issue occurring in the headlights of this particular make of the bike, it is very important to replace the bulb when damaged, as that leads to the biker being a hazard on the road, especially at night.

  • Turn off the bike before beginning.
  • Remove the bike seat by grabbing both ends and pulling the seat toward the rear wheel.
  • Locate the screw on the battery.

  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the single screw, disconnecting the power to the battery.

  • Pull the bulb's plug directly out of its port.

  • Remove the outer rubber boot by pulling it towards yourself.

  • While pushing down on the silver pin, pull the bulb directly out of its socket without turning.

  • Wear latex or nitrile gloves when handling the new bulb.
  • Insert the new bulb into the empty socket and secure it by gently pushing it into place until properly seated.

  • Repeat the steps in reverse order to reassemble the bike, and turn it on to check if the headlight works.
