This quick and easy guide will help you replace the cabin air filter of a Scion xA 2004-2006 automobile.

Step-by-step instructions

- Empty the glove compartment.
- Press firmly on both sides of the compartment to dislodge it from the rubber stopper.
- Remove the glove compartment.

- The housing inside the cabin air filter compartment protects the cabin air filter.
- Press the clips on the sides of the cabin air filter housing to unlatch and allow removal.

- Pull out the housing protecting the cabin air filter.

- Take note of the air filter's orientation in the cover. The printed airflow arrow on the filter is pointing down.
- Pull the air filter away from you to remove the air filter from its housing.

- Insert the new cabin air filter into the cover. Place filter in the correct orientation noted in the previous step.
- An Incorrect cabin air filter orientation will lead to improper air circulation. The printed air flow arrow should always be pointed down.

- Slide the housing back into the air filter compartment.
- The housing side tabs will latch into place ensuring its security.

- Hook the glove compartment cover into its position. While closing the compartment, squeeze the sides until the rubber stopper latches into place.
