2012-2015 Honda Civic Oil Filter Replacement

In this guide I will show you how to change the oil filter for your 2012-2015 Honda Civic.

Materials List:

Jack stand (any kind works)

Oil Filter

Oil Pan

Oil

Oil Filter Wrench (Optional) (primary optional tool)

Hexagonal Oil Filter Grip Tool (Not Required) (secondary option to other tool)

Socket Wrench (Not Required) (secondary option to other tool)

Misusing a car jack can cause serious injury. Please only follow this guide if you have experience working beneath vehicles.
Place the jack under the vehicle.
Be sure to line the jack up with the frame of the car.
After you line the jack up, raise it.

Open the car's hood to allow the engine to have more airflow, thus allowing it to cool off quicker.

Once engine is cool and oil filter is ready to be changed, place oil pan under the car where the oil filter is.

The oil filter is a cylindrical object under the car.
Use your hand to carefully and slowly unscrew it. Once the oil starts coming out, place it into the oil pan and let the old filter sit.

After taking out the old filter, use a finger to get some of the oil from the spillage and rub the inside of the filter.
Then place the oil filter back into the same spot. Screw it as hard as you can with your hand that is not too for the next time you change your oil filter.
This is the final step. Now just clean everything up and you are good to go.
Lower and remove the jack stand.
Let your car run for 5 minutes before you drive it. This is to let the filter get lubed up.
