2013 GMC Terrain Headlight Bulb Replacement

You may have a 2013 GMC Terrain, and your headlight bulb is out. Don't think about taking it to a mechanic because you can do it yourself with just one tool. All you'll need is your new H11 headlight bulb and a T15 Torx screwdriver.

  • Identify which headlight is out.

  • Turn the wheels toward the opposite side of the broken headlight.
  • Go to the Front fender on the side with the broken headlight and find the cover on the fender liner.

  • Use a T15 Torx screwdriver to remove the screw.
  • Turn the cover counterclockwise to remove it.

  • Reach into the hole to find the round cap to the bulb.
  • Turn it counterclockwise to expose the socket holding the bulb.

  • Twist the socket counterclockwise and pull it out to expose the bulb.

  • Unclip the old bulb from the socket.

  • Grab your new bulb.
  • Make sure not to touch the actual bulb because the oils from your skin can cause it to burn out.
  • Plug it back into the socket and twist it clockwise in the hole.

  • Place the headlight cover back on and turn it clockwise to secure it.

  • Place the inner fender cover over the hole.
  • Twist the cover clockwise until it's tight
  • Screw in the Torx screw until it is tight.

  • Finally, your headlights should both work.
