Follow this guide to learn how to replace the battery in your 2020 Hyundai Elantra key fob. Over time, key fob batteries can lose charge and need replacement to ensure continued functionality.
This guide applies to the 2020 Hyundai Elantra key fob and may also work for other sixth-generation Elantra models.

- Insert the wide end of a spudger into the the bottom of the key fob and with a gentle twist, pry open the case.
- Don't apply too much force or pressure to avoid damaging the key fob.
- Once the case is open enough to get your fingers in the seam, use your hands to separate the top and bottom of the fob.

- Use a spudger to remove the old battery from the holder.
- Replace the CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side ( + sign) is facing down.
- Before you put the key fob back together, make sure the battery is seated fully and correctly.

- Align both halves of the case and press them together.
- You should hear a snap when they connect.

- Slide the emergency key back into the holder until you hear a click indicating it's locked in place.
- Give the key a test run ensuring all the buttons work and the vehicle responds accordingly. If not, ensure the battery is seated properly and try again.
