Cabin Air Filter Replacement, Seat ATECA.

Replacement of the CABIN AIR FILTER for the Seat Ateca and similar models, located behind the passenger side glove box.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before unhooking the glove box, move the passenger seat SO THAT THE GLOVE BOX RESTS ON THE SEAT WHEN UNHOOKED. This prevents the glove box from falling completely and detaching the toothed guide on the right side. If this detaches, the gear wheel that creates the slow opening and closing of the glove box will fall out.

The glove box is held in the open position by two wedge-shaped stops located on the left and right sides.
To remove it, you can pry with a screwdriver, but there is a risk of scratching or marking the plastic; with a little more effort, this prying can be done by hand.

Now proceed with the right-side catch; the operation is the same as with the left, but take care: this one has a toothed guide that engages with a gear wheel providing the slow-opening motion for the glove box.
My advice is to leave the glove box supported as shown in photo 3. We don't have much room to remove the filter, but there is enough, and you avoid releasing the toothed guide, which could cause the gear wheel to fall out or get lost.

Photo 1, we can see the cavity with the filter cover at the back on the upper side.
Photos 2 and 3 show the toothed guide; Photo 3 shows the catch that keeps the guide and the gear wheel coupled; in this position, both are coupled and the gear wheel does not come loose.

Now we see the filter cover and we must locate the 3 clips on the top; these can be unclipped with a flathead screwdriver.

Before releasing the 3 clips, I advise you to place your hand inside to hold the cover so it doesn't fall; while this doesn't usually happen, it is possible, and you can remove it with your fingers.

Views of the filter to be replaced; we can extract it through the small opening. Note: pay attention to the position of the airflow arrows; we must install the new one the same way.

We compared the size of the used filter with the new filter; they are exactly the same size.

Once the filter is inserted, proceed to replace the cover by holding it carefully with 2 fingers, hooking it into the 3 lower clips, and pushing on the top of the cover so the 3 clips click into place.

Carefully push the cover to ensure it is properly engaged, and you can re-engage it by reversing the process used to disengage it.

Test the glove box once it is latched. Raise and lower it several times to verify that it still performs the slow opening and zipper correctly.
