One of the most common faults with all small outboard "kicker" motors is that they rarely get operated under full power or even half throttle. They get started, warmed a little, and then put into gear and 'troll' for hours and hours. Their thermostats stick 'open' regularly and need replacement every few years. Common symptoms are rough idle, fouling spark plugs and as a result, 'Hard Starting'.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
