Cleaning the Dacia Logan MCV 2 electric window switch

This guide shows how to clean the electric window switch on the Dacia Logan MCV 2. If the window switch is no longer working reliably, the cause is often corrosion or the switch itself. On my 2020 Dacia Logan MCV 2 station wagon, corrosion was the culprit; after cleaning with alcohol, everything worked perfectly again.

Remove the door panel and release the connector

  • On my 2020 Dacia Logan MCV 2 estate, there were 3 screws and a metal clip.
  • Remove the cover on the A-pillar at the mirror section and release the metal clip behind it.
  • Release the 3 Torx screws on the panel: one in the frame on the side towards the B-pillar, one in the small handle, and one at the inner door release handle.
  • Carefully release the door release handle, disengage the internal mechanical bracket while pulling it out, and remove the door release handle completely.
  • Carefully lift the entire door panel away. Be mindful of the wiring for the electric window regulator while doing so.
  • Press the small plastic tab on the connector and pull the connector off the window regulator switch.

Window switch removal

  • The photos show the driver's side, where the dual switch is installed.
  • Remove the switch from the door panel.

Removing mechanical buttons and copper plates

  • Carefully pry out the mechanical buttons on the left and right.
  • Keep the 2 small copper plates safe; they are located inside the button.

Removing the caps

  • Carefully detach the black button cap.
  • Then, detach the transparent cap.

Cleaning and reassembly

  • Remove the rubber cover.
  • Clean the rubber cover, the PCB, and the plastic with alcohol and a cotton swab.

Conclusion

Follow the steps in reverse order to reassemble your device.
