Seat Ateca Keyless Remote Battery Replacement - CR 2032 Battery

  • 2024 Seat Ateca: the key fob started displaying low dead battery warnings on the vehicle's dashboard before it was 2 years old. This is the first time the coin cell has been replaced, and it is a very simple task.
  • 1. Press the button to release the "hidden" emergency key.

  • Key removal.

  • Using a small screwdriver, insert it into the left side and pry slightly to unclip the cover.

  • Remove the cover; in photo 2, we can see that we simply need to insert the tip 1.5 cm to use it as a lever.
  • Battery model CR 2032; note that other Seat key models use the CR2025.

  • Use the tip of the screwdriver to pry in the gap to extract it. The battery pops out due to the internal spring.

  • Insert the new CR 2032 battery and click it into place.

  • Replace the cover, first by snapping it into the end opposite the key. As you can see, the cover is not symmetrical, so there is only one way it can be inserted.

  • Press the 2 sides and the cover will snap into place.

  • Just as a curious note, when the battery is tested with the DIY tester, it shows as practically ok, so the vehicle discards them as soon as their voltage drops slightly below 3 V.
