Пошаговая инструкция

1

Prepare workspace and gather supplies

  • [videotimestamp|34.7|71.6]Gather five quarts of engine oil, a new oil filter, an oil drain pan, rags, a wrench or ratchet for the drain plug, and an optional oil treatment additive.
  • Lay a piece of carpet or use a creeper under the truck to stay comfortable and keep tools within reach.
2

Locate drain plug and filter

  • [videotimestamp|71.6|92.3]Slide underneath and identify the oil filter on the side of the 460 engine and the drain plug in the oil pan.
  • Position the drain pan so it will catch oil from both the plug and the filter.
3

Remove drain plug

  • [videotimestamp|92.3|118.7]Loosen the drain plug with the wrench while holding the pan beneath the opening.
  • Spin the plug out by hand and let the oil pour into the pan.
  • Reposition the pan immediately if oil begins to miss.
4

Allow oil to drain completely

  • [videotimestamp|128.8|146.3]Let the warm oil flow until it slows to a steady drip.
  • Changing the oil while the engine is warm helps flush dirt and contaminants from the pan.
5

Reinstall drain plug

  • [videotimestamp|146.3|176.6]Clean the plug threads if needed and thread it back into the pan by hand.
  • Snug the plug with the wrench; tight enough to seal but not so tight that the threads or gasket are damaged.
6

Remove old oil filter

  • [videotimestamp|181.9|215]Move the drain pan under the filter and turn the filter counter-clockwise to break it free.
  • Use an oil filter wrench if the filter is too tight to turn by hand.
  • Keep the filter mouth down so residual oil drains into the pan.
7

Clean filter mounting surface

  • [videotimestamp|217.6|246.1]Wipe the filter mounting pad and surrounding area with a clean rag to remove oil and debris.
8

Prime new filter gasket

  • [videotimestamp|254.1|270.6]Dip a finger in fresh oil and coat the rubber gasket on the new filter with a thin film.
9

Install new oil filter

  • [videotimestamp|270.6|310.1]Spin the filter onto the mount until the gasket contacts the pad.
  • Hand-tighten the filter an additional two to three turns; firm but not as tight as possible.
  • Wipe off any oil on the filter and chassis for a clean finish.
10

Add oil treatment additive and engine oil

  • [videotimestamp|317.3|397.5]Insert a funnel into the fill neck and pour the oil treatment additive in first.
  • Adding the additive before the oil prevents accidental overfilling.
  • The additive is thick; allow it time to drain or rinse the bottle with a small amount of engine oil and pour it in.
  • Pour engine oil through the funnel until the dipstick reaches the full mark.
11

Pressurize the system and check for leaks

  • [videotimestamp|406.1|434.5]Start the engine and idle until the oil pressure gauge shows normal pressure.
  • Inspect the drain plug and filter area underneath for any signs of leakage.
12

Verify capacity and dispose of waste

  • [videotimestamp|440.5|449.5]Stop the engine, wait a minute, and recheck the oil level, topping up if needed; the 460 used roughly six quarts including the additive.
  • Pour the used oil into a sealed container and recycle it along with the old filter according to local regulations.
