Disassembling 2011 Chevrolet Traverse Fuse Box

This guide will teach you how to correctly and safely remove the fuse box from a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse.

Pull the Release Lever

  • Pull the release lever located under the driver's side dashboard.

Open the Hood

  • Walk to the front of the vehicle and pull the safety latch to the side while simultaneously pulling the hood up.

Locate the Battery

  • Walk to the back of the passenger side seat.
  • Pull off the trim that is blocking the battery cover.
  • Unscrew the screw holding the battery cover with a T20 Torx bit

Unplug the Negative Terminal

  • Remove the Battery Cover
  • Unscrew the Negative Terminal bolt with a 10mm socket
  • Unplug the Negative Terminal
  • ***!CAUTION!*** Put something non-conductive between the Negative Wire and the Negative Terminal so that the vehicle doesn't get power

Open the Fuse Box and Positive Cover

  • Walk to the front of the vehicle
  • Locate the fuse box at the top left corner of the engine bay
  • Push in the Tabs located around the fuse box
  • Open the positive terminal cap

Remove Bolts and Nuts

  • Remove the nut on the positive terminal with a 13mm socket and set the wires aside
  • Remove the bolts holding on the fuse box with a 10mm socket

Pull Clips on Fuse Box

  • Remove the clips holding on the fuse box
  • This is done easier with a pick

Pull Fuse Box Off

  • Pull Fuse Box off and set aside
  • Reassembly is in the reverse order
