Seat ATECA 2020 and Ateca 2024, 2 different rear wiper blade models—is yours like this?

Step-by-step instructions

1
  • ***Seat ATECA 2020, vehicle name with "Capital Letters" ***the rear windshield wiper is the standard model used on the ATECA, ARONA, with a support arm where, when the motor brush is attached, it protrudes approximately 1 cm from the support, as on the Arona model.
  • I can make the comparison, since we have both versions in the family.

  • ***2024 Seat Ateca, vehicle name with “lowercase letters" ***the rear windshield wiper NOTE: it is NOT the standard model that the ATECA from previous years and the ARONA use, with the insertable support, protruding 1 cm externally.
  • On this "Ateca", the rear wiper is embedded in the support, so most of those you will find for sale on the internet DO NOT FIT; they correspond to the model from Step 1, not this one.

  • Views of the 2024 Ateca rear wiper "embedded model".
  • In Step 8 and 9 I show you 2 other VAG group vehicles that use the same model.

  • Comparison of the standard "ATECA" model with the recessed "Ateca" model: as you can see, the square attachment clip does not align with the hole, in addition to one being square and the other rectangular. Therefore, the old model, which is the one commonly found on the market, is not compatible with this more recent one.
  • Photo 2 clearly shows the problem.

  • Views of the embedded model for the 2024 Ateca. The anchor square (yellow arrows) has now become a rectangle, and the tip of the windshield wiper support (blue arrow) is embedded in the metal arm.
  • I was unable to locate the correct replacement part, so for this first rear windshield wiper change, I swapped the plastic support between the new one and the used one.

  • To install the new long-hook motor brush on the Ateca with the embedded support, we will switch the support tweezers from one windshield wiper to the other.

  • ***Doing a little "investigation" on the street, I have located 2 other VAG group vehicles that carry this recessed rear windshield wiper.***
  • ***SKODA KAROQ***
  • Performing searches and digging around on the internet, it seems that as of October 12, 2026, when I am writing this document, the only windshield wiper that corresponds to this model is a BOSCH part number. I am providing the description in case it serves as a guide for anyone:
  • ***BOSCH Heckwischerblatt Aerotwin A335H 3397016317***
  • Located on AMAZON.
  • Another part number, located on another website, I am providing the link, I do not know how long it will be active: ***Bosch rear motor brush A335H***
  • [https://www.soundstorexl.es/products/bosch-bagrudeviskerblad-a335h|Link to the website, as we can see, the key parameter in the searches is A335H]
  • This other one also seems compatible, but I have not tested it, I cannot guarantee it: ***BOSCH Heckwischerblatt Aerotwin A303H 3397016316***

  • ***Other vehicles that also use this flush-mounted windshield wiper model***—it seems the manufacturer has transferred to the SEAT Ateca what it was already using in its other 2 brands.
  • ***Example VOLKSWAGEN T-ROC and T-CROSS***

  • ***And to complement this minor issue detected in the 2024 Ateca, here is a "tip or DIY" to extend the life of the windshield wipers.***
  • If we apply a little oil with a brush—I use car engine oil—we moisturize the plastic and can extend the lifespan of the windshield wipers.
  • Apply the oil at night without using too much, and wipe off any excess the next day if there is any left.

  • If we apply a little oil to them with a brush—I use car engine oil—we hydrate the plastic and can extend the lifespan of the windshield wipers, at least for one more repositioning, sometimes even two.
