2006 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 Battery Replacement

This guide will show how to replace a dead or dying battery in a Honda Shadow Spirit motorbike. All tools should be included in the motorbike in the tool box.

NOTE: The directions in the guide refer to the view from the back of the motorbike.

Left = The side opposite the tail pipe

Right = The side with the tail pipe

Remove outer casing

  • Remove the plastic covering, located on the left side of the bike, by pulling the piece straight off the bike.

Unscrew the seat

  • Using the allen wrench, remove the screws on both sides of the bike seat.

Open toolbox

  • The tool box is located under the panel.
  • Using the key to the motorbike, unlock the tool box.
  • Remove the plastic bag inside holding the tools needed for basic maintenance for the motorbike.

Remove the seat

  • Pull the rear of the seat upwards.
  • Pull the seat backwards to remove it from the bike.

Remove plastic covering

  • Using the screwdriver, remove the screw holding the plastic cover.

Remove the fusebox

  • Pull the cover off the battery and remove the fuse box from the cover.
  • Place the fuse box over to the side right of the bike. Do not disconnect the wires.

Detach the ground wire

  • Using the screwdriver, remove the ground wire (negative (-) cable) from the battery.
  • Place the wire over the left side of the bike.

Detach the power cable

  • Also using the screwdriver, remove the positive (+) cable from the battery.
  • Place the wire over the right side of the bike.
  • Do not let the red(+) and black(-) wires touch

Remove the battery

  • Remove the battery from the bike by pulling upwards.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
