2010 Jeep Liberty Headlight Bulb Replacement

Headlights are among one of the most important safety devices on a vehicle. They provide you with light to see when it gets dark, as well as be seen by other drivers. This guide is going to demonstrate how to safely and easily replace a headlight bulb on a 2010 Jeep Liberty.

Step-by-step instructions

Pop the hood of your vehicle by pulling the lever near the bottom of the driver's side door.
Slide your hands under the unlatched hood to find the second lever. Push this lever to the right and lift the hood.
Be sure to use the hood prop to keep the hood from falling while you're underneath it.

Identify the bulb socket, located behind the headlight.
Rotate the base of the bulb counter-clockwise to remove it from the socket.
Remove the bulb from the green base by pulling the two apart.

Insert the new bulb into the green base.
Be sure not to touch the glass with your fingers. If you do, wipe the bulb down with a soft cloth and some rubbing alcohol. Oils left behind from your fingers can shorten the life of the bulb.
Rotate clockwise to lock the bulb assembly into the socket.

Turn on headlights to ensure the new bulb is working properly.
You will want to check that your headlights are aligned on both sides. Adjust as needed.
