1986-1993 Volvo 240 Engine Air Filter Replacement

Replacing your Volvo's engine air filter is one of the easiest things you can do to keep your engine healthy and breathing right. Check your engine air filter at every oil change and replace it when it is dirty, usually around every 12,000 miles.

  • The engine air filter housing is located at the front of the engine bay, between the engine and the radiator.
  • Open the lid of the filter housing by releasing the metal clips along the edge of the lid.

  • Once the clips are released, pull the lid away from the air filter housing.
  • Grab the air filter and remove it from the filter housing.
  • Be sure to install the new air filter in the same orientation as the old one.
